After what amounts to a combined 51 years serving the Genoa-Kingston Community Unit School District #424, two longtime GK staff members are set to retire at the end of the school year.

John Francis has been with the district since August 23, 1989—offering a whopping 32 years of dedicated service to the district. In his most recent role, he is currently the Principal at Genoa Elementary School.

Also retiring is Ann Pickerill, a beloved Payroll Assistant in the District Office. Pickerill began her career at GK on July 15, 2003 and will be just shy of her 20th year in the district when she retires this year.

We have been proud to have such incredible members of our community and staff as part of our team for so many years. Thank you for all you’ve done and best of luck in your next chapter! Please join us in congratulating these two members of our GK family as they embark on the next leg of their journey!
