Did you know there is a community pantry located at Genoa-Kingston High School? There is!

The CogsMart is an extension of the Dekalb County Community Gardens food bank, which also has a local hub in Genoa, and acts as a mini general store designed to benefit students, families, and staff in the district. The CogsMart is currently experiencing a surplus of donated items, and so a shopping event has been created to help encourage families, students, staff, or others in need to come pick-up some grocery items that they may need.

Items available include food staples like peanut butter, spaghetti sauce, and cereal, as well as hygiene products like shampoo and conditioner, deodorant, lotion, soap, and more. There are also some school supplies, such as folders, writing and coloring utensils, glue, and notebooks.

The event is Wednesday, December 14, from 5:30–7:30 p.m. at the high school. Shopping times are made by appointment only by signing-up at this link: https://bit.ly/CogsMartShopping (please make sure to do this if you want to stop by!).

While this event was specifically organized as a day of community shopping, the CogsMart is open and available to use throughout the school day for all students, family members of students, and staff. Those interested just need to check-in with a staff member to unlock the door.

We welcome and encourage users of our pantry! Check out a peek inside below!
