GK Spotlight: Matthew Krueger, New School Board Member
At this small town school, we build big-time pride by creating deep and lasting bonds within our community. With our #GKSpotlight series, we’ll shine a spotlight on members of the GK community so we can get to know each other and share what makes us #GKProud.

Why did you want to join the GK Board of Education?
I am passionate about student education and experiences. These experiences shape not only these kids’ lives, but our community’s lives in the way they will be trained and serve for our future. I believe my background and experiences will assist this board with their mission.
What are 3 things you hope to accomplish or bring to the table while serving on the Board?
I hope to accomplish communication between the parents, students, board, administration, and teachers to provide the best education and experiences for these students. I hope to assist in ways to get the students and teachers safely back to in-person learning. Lastly, I hope to return safely to in-person experiences. I am eager to listen to solutions from administrators, staff, students, and the community to address these items.
My favorite thing about the Genoa-Kingston school community:
I enjoy the small town feel of Genoa-Kingston Schools and opportunities for students to stand out.
A challenge I look forward to addressing is:
Returning safely to in-person learning.
The vision I see for the future of GK schools is:
Returning safely to the in-person learning that we previously had at Genoa-Kingston Schools prior to the pandemic.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I like to spend time with my family doing activities such as agriculture (farming), arts (music), and athletics (playing sports).
A fun fact about me is:
We have five kids (one adopted) and a new baby on the way! We will be a part of GK schools for a long time!
